Winter in Brazil has been increasingly rigorous, reaching even the sertão with mild temperatures. The poorest population has suffered from the cold dawns and heavy rains, even in autumn. Children in the sertão are the ones who suffer the most from climate change, with respiratory diseases such as bronchitis, rhinitis and pneumonia.
