The Quilombo community is a symbol of the ongoing struggle for land and freedom. More than three centuries ago, the Quilombola communities of Vale do Ribeira emerged from this arduous battle, defying land concentration and the devastation of the Atlantic Forest.<\/p>\n
Imb\u00e9 Quilombola is one such community, nestled in the rural area of Capoeiras municipality, in the state of Pernambuco.<\/p>\n
In the present day, this community is comprised of approximately 200 families, with a significant portion of the population being children who carry within them dreams, aspirations, and an indomitable spirit to thrive.<\/p>\n
Despite being marked by painful histories and enduring prejudice, the Imb\u00e9 community remains united through the bonds of family, fueled by courage and hope.<\/p>\n
As an NGO, our mission is to bring forth opportunities and instill hope in communities in need, ensuring their basic necessities are met while spreading joy and love.<\/p>\n
In January of 2023, we launched our sponsorship program in Imb\u00e9, enrolling 63 children in our educational program. However, we face a challenge as we lack a suitable building for their education. Currently, we are utilizing an improvised shack, as we believe in taking action and creating opportunities where none exist.\u00a0<\/p>\n
